Like most of the United States, California has a sagging budget, and one of the most common methods for replenishing it is by installing red light cams at the majority of the busier intersections. Even though most drivers know they where they are, it can still be difficult to remember that they are there and drivers will ignore traffic light cameras. This is usually fine, until the time your vehicle was photographed not coming to a complete stop turning right on red or the driver missed the changing light and accelerated through it.

Riverside, Ca. has a population of 310,000 residents, but because of its location in the center of the state, and the close proximity to Los Angeles and Irvine, the greater city of Riverside experiences a large population of visiting traffic passing through the area, and those visitors as well as the local traffic from Riverside, all tend to ignore traffic light cameras. The problem arises when, in about three to four weeks, the picture and ticket arrive in the mail.

It is safe to say that 99 percent of the drivers on the road have received at least one ticket, whether they were actually stopped by a law enforcement officer, or they received a traffic light camera that had snapped the picture. In either case, this is a totally unexpected and unpleasant experience that will typically cost over $500 in California, even if you simply mail the ticket and fine in to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Don’t ignore traffic cameras. Instead, bring them to the traffic ticket attorney that has 95 percent success rate in having all points removed and having the ticket dismissed. This law office has been in the Riverside area since 1991, and the traffic ticket attorney is familiar with handling all types of tickets, including traffic light cameras and traffic stops.

When the client uses a traffic ticket attorney, then the attorney can take the offense to court where the driver has a chance to express their side of the incident. If the ticket is simply paid through the mail, the driver is responsible for all the penalties and fees. These are the traffic ticket penalties in the state of California, and though they are not tremendous, the time, energy and accumulating the finances can be frustrating when the driver handles them.

• Two to four points are added to the driver’s license, and if the driver has several tickets, the license has a possibility of being suspended at 12 points.
• Traffic school is typically required for all traffic tickets, which is four hours.
• Traffic school can charge between $50 and $100.
The traffic ticket attorney is often able to offer a new perspective on traffic light camera tickets that reduces the fine, keeps points off the driver’s record, reducing the ticket to only driver’s school or has the ticket dismissed entirely. Here are several defenses used by a traffic attorney.
• Use the driver’s good record.
• Saves the driver from filing an appeal, which takes more time and fees.
• Proves beyond a reasonable doubt that the officer or traffic light camera was inaccurate.

So, in Riverside Ca, drivers are not permitted to ignore traffic light cameras, but they have an alternative to accepting automatic guilt in a traffic light camera picture.
